Pembangunan Underpass Senen Extension Capai 74 Persen

Senen Extension Underpass Construction Has Reached 74 Percent

Hopefully we can finish it by the end of this year

The Senen Extension underpass development progress has touched 74 percent. So far the tunnel connecting Jalan Letjen Suprapto to Jalan Senen Raya has been built.

"The focus of our current work is on completing the bottom of the underpass," expressed Jakarta Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho, Tuesday (9/1).

Development of Senen Extension Underpass is Nearly 40 Percent

He explained the sidewall of the underpass would be planted with an Aluminum Composite Panel (ACP) to make it neat. After it was done, the next work was improving other facilities such as pedestrian bridges, bus stops and sidewalks.

"Sidewalks need to be improved and will be leveled with the existing road. We trim it again to accommodate pedestrians and the disabled," he told.

He believed that the work could parse traffic jam in the area up to 30-40 percent.

"It is dense indeed, but it can be handled when the riders from Jalan Letjen Suprapto who pass the underpass can go directly to Jalan Senen Raya without having to go through the red light at the Senen intersection," he explained.

As for the information, the underpass has 518 meters long with 5.2 meter high with 180 meters long and 9 meter wide.

"Hopefully we can finish it by the end of this year," he stated.
